Kinda yeah. So do the workers in the Netherlands, in Belgium, in Germany apparently, in Italy. People everywhere are getting poorer and instead of looking at the top 0.1% who are getting richer and richer, the people™ are looking at the poorest of us all, and at the migrants, and at the trans community for some reasons, as the culprits for all their woes. While the USA might be leading the way, most of the western world is going downhill.

1·2 years agoSearxng is very good, I like it a lot. As for OSM, I didn’t even know it could be hosted.

3·2 years agoProsody (XMPP server), a git instance, a searXNG instance, Tandoor (recipe manager), Next Cloud, Syncthing for my phone and my partner’s (one could say Next Cloud should be enough but I use it for different purposes), and a few other stuff.
It doesn’t even use an eight of its total RAM and I’ve never seen the CPU go past 20℅. But it uses a lot less power than the thin client it replaced so not a bad investment, especially considering its price.

1·2 years agoMy first @home server was an old defective iMac G3 but it did the job (and then died for good) A while back, I got a RP3 and then a small thin client with some small AMD CPU. They (barely) got the job done.
I replaced them with an HP EliteDesk G2 micro with a i5-6500T. I don’t know what to do with the extra power.
Power consumption, if you care about that.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump says RFK Jr. plan to remove fluoride from public water 'sounds okay to me'
172·2 years agoWhat’s the big deal with Fluoride in drinking water in the US? Like most European, I don’t get fluoride enriched drinking water and it’s never been a big deal.
Don’t you guys use toothpaste with Fluoride?
you cannot make the same assumption (if you were to actually be make it in the former case) about uniformed and distinctly marked UN-peacekeepers that have their own bases.
Actually, that’s exactly what the Israeli government did, they said they were trying to attack Hezbollah bases and the Peacekeepers should leave the area. And somehow, some people believe them.

Only us millennials are victims. /s
