Mild correction, Apollo is a boy, otherwise, excellent poem.

2·9 months agoI absolutely love The Wall. During the Covid lockdown I got pretty obsessed with Pink Floyd and went down the rabbit hole. I still listen to them a fair bit now, though not as much as I did then. It was pretty much 50/50 Pink Floyd and Bob Dylan 24/7 playing on repeat for about two years.

5·9 months agoI should rewatch that movie again. It’s probably my most listened to album ever, but I’ve only seen the movie once. It’s a pretty good watch imo.

2·10 months agoIf I lived in Alberta I could probably get it that cheap, but then I’d need to live in Alberta.
For reference, Alberta is sort of our Texas. Our last federal election, Alberta was 92% conservative. The premier there (basically governor) is also a MAGAt Trump supporter and was trying to fight for more independence which probably means joining the States. Not that it’ll happen but that’s the mentality of the government there, and a lot of its people too.

4·10 months agoUSD 3/gallon = CAD 1.109/litre
That’s still cheaper than I’ve seen for quite a while, though I have seen close. When converted, the gas prices where I live are closer to around USD 3.5-4/gallon. It does occasionally dip down to closer to what you were saying, though not quite.
Edit: just checked, gas station near me is 138.6 (we measure in cents here, so CAD 1.386/litre). That’s USD 3.75/gallon.

I haven’t seen gas that cheap in a long, long time.

We just signed a lease on a new place. Most of the paperwork we could do online but a couple things needed to be dropped off in person at the realtor’s office. It’s a decently large office and there’s TVs there with info and stuff for staff. A few panels that show up talk about seminars for how to better sell a property, and one of them was called “The AI Revolution in Realty”. I have no idea how AI can help with selling a place, everyone I know wants to view places in person. I guess if you’re selling a place to someone overseas who’s about to come here for school (pretty common where I live), then maybe AI can help deceive them so they’re more likely to purchase/rent? That’s the only thing I could think of. Realty is a decently in-person job, that’s not something AI can be integrated with. Maybe I’m wrong and there’s a good explanation for it, but I can’t think of one. It’s the most forced integration with AI I’ve seen personally.
I read this in Jeremy Clarkson’s voice before I even read the last line. It’s like my brain knew.
The last olympics I followed was 2010 so things may have changed without my knowledge too.
Depending on the sport sometimes a bronze is a win and a silver is a loss. With some sports, if it’s a one on one thing, there’s a game that’s basically “if you win it’s a bronze, if you lose it’s fourth place” and then the next game (with different team obviously) is “if you win it’s a gold, if you lose it’s a silver”. So if you get a bronze, you won, if you get a silver, you lose.
