Yeah the main reason they care is because abortion gives women agency, the ability to control their own lives. In the conservative ideology women are subservient to men.

Trump changing his mind 180 degrees in an instant? That’s not very surprising 🤭
At least he admits that he thought this before. Usually he’s like the old opinion never happened.

Well China makes some stuff of their own that are very next level. Chengdu J-36, Shenyang J-50.
But they could use hands on experience to find weaknesses in the F35 which will make it’s way to Chinese ally Russia which is Europe’s main enemy. As a country who only had F35s now this is a big problem.

True I’ve been wondering if they’re just really busy doctoring all those files before they release them and that’s why they’re stalling.

I don’t think individualism is bad per se. I’m very left but individualist. It just means I’m not bound to groupthink. I have my own opinions and i temporarily align with political parties but never have unquestioning loyalty to any party or country. If anything that unquestioning loyalty is a hallmark of fascism and not very individualistic. The extreme right is a group cult and people who speak against the group narrative are exiled immediately.
I’m from Holland so being left is a lot more left than in the US. Yet I can still speak my mind at political meetings even if it’s against the group opinion.
They do exhibit some individualistic properties but more as a group. But inside the group the forced groupthink is extremely strong.
And individualism isn’t just about what’s good for a person. I’m individualist but I still care about the environment as it’s important to me and the people i care about.

Even that is getting close with trump basically acting as a king

But an ally ideologically (until trump). Previous governments just supported them because of oil.

It could also cost our lives as a US “ally”. Since they are the only fighter jet my country (Holland) is buying. Since China is a strong supporter of Russia it’s sure that they will get access to any countermeasures as well.
IMO we should sell those things and buy something else like the much cheaper alternatives from Europe.
But my country is also becoming pretty fascist and idealises America so they probably will just cave.
At least there’s still countries like Spain who have already cancelled their F-35 order 👏

True, when I look at the numbers there’s enormous potential if one side can manage to get the non-voters to get off their couches for once. Even in states that are deeply red.

But half the population is female. I would expect all (except the hardest GOP followers) of them to welcome a female president for a change? The problem with Kamala was just that she was pretty invisible during Biden’s presidency and with him pulling out so late she had this whole “second choice” thing hanging over her.

Yeah I agree with you 100% there.

To be a latina woman in her 30s would be a definite pick for a presidency over a geriatric male (let’s be honest, I like Bernie Sanders but he is very old).
For such a job you’d want someone in their prime age with sharp attention span, with a forward-looking vision, not back. With multicultural experience to better communicate with the rest of the world.
I’m not an American so I can’t vote but I would definitely pick her out of those two.

There is no such thing as a right wing democrat unless that person has brain damage.
Compared to Europe, the democrats are definitely right-wing, not even centric. They are very neoliberal and capitalist. Those are all very right-wing ideas. The republicans are currently in the same class as the radical right which is unfortunately making inroads in Europe. But America doesn’t really know a real left except perhaps Bernie Sanders.

A female president of a normal age would be an amazing change for the US. Why does it always have to be geriatric males?

And more generally, that the beneficiary decides their own benefits. I mean this is the mother of all conflicts of interest.

“You are all going to pay me a lot but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make”
Agreed. I lived in a small town and hated it. I need the buzz of a city, the opportunities, always things happening.
Also, in a big city you can find groups of people to fit with your identity however niche you are. In a small town it’s the opposite, you have to adapt yourself to them to fit in, they are very monocultural. I can’t do that.
