lack of transparency kills everything. especially when the government already has hostile reputation towards its citizens. which is weird because it is way easier to get reelected when you actually do something that makes life of your people easier and more self-sustainable. but that’s probably a bit too much to ask.

why go that far - how about the environmental impact of shelling the area with all sorts of munitions? Pretty much the entirety of russian-occupied territory since 2022 is rendered into a literal dead moonscape and even decades later (if this shit ever ends) a good chunk of that land will remain a red zone filled with all sorts of bad things.
In the end of the day the only thing that matters is how a bunch of old guys feel about the way that thing makes them look

10·1 year agoAn easy solution to make renewable energy more acceptable by political and economic elites is to physically demolished the other energy infrastructure so that they will be left with no choice but to pivot towards renewables instead of big clumsy easy to hit power stations. Works like a charm but there’s a catch.
If it is just ID but on the phone then it is a sensible idea with a couple of millions precautions to take care of. Case in point - Diia is fine if flawed realization of Digital ID and digital governance application. You just need to get through a dozen or so data leaks because we got our pentesting permanently outsourced to guys up east but aside from that - it is broadly fine.
that’s way beyond the function of a meme pic though
that’s not how it works though
That’s how it works in theory. Alas, the reality is too much in the hubris.
it was like that since the O`Neil days if not earlier.
The thing with scarcity is that it follows the Jevons paradox, so technically, scarcity is basically a horizon - it is there but you can’t reach it / overcome it per se.
That’s not how it works though
there’s a country called russia and they literally do just that. can’t take over a moon landscape that once was a burgeoning village without disposing 50k personnel but sure can spam ballistic missiles on civilians for shits and giggles.
nah, he was high-profile big business lawyer before getting the minister chair - basically appointed as “the man outside of the system”. the problem was - he was a big business lawyer and he basically pushed the big business agenda inside ministry instead of you know state interests and shit. And then he decided to outargue a respected investigative reporter who exposed unlawful scheming inside Defense Ministry and while he was busy proving everybody wrong he outlined the whole thing even better and it caused even bigger public outcry so he was forced to resign.
It’s can be even funnier - one of our previous Defense Ministers decried corruption and massive money laundering operations on war effort while also being the one doing that. He literally snitched on himself and did it with panache of Scooby Doo villain and it was as stupid as it sounds.

that’s grim
