Some civil servant is being called right now, and told that he needs to get his ass off his Thanksgiving couch, and get to work to find that plaque and remove it by the end of the day.

14th Amendment, Section 3. I was screaming through the entire Biden administration that Trump, and EVERY other MAGA that defended, supported, and encouraged his violent insurrection should have been prohibited from ever holding office for the rest of their lives.
Those that weren’t executed for it, that is.
The other new execution method is Nitrogen Asphyxiation. Safe, efficient, inexpensive. No sense wasting a lot of money on PedoCon Traitors.

51·9 months agoI understand, thanks for the explanation like I’m 5.
I used the word “Him” because he’s making it happen, nobody else wants or is asking for this, so I referred to it rhetorically as “his” money. You shouldn’t be baffled by literary license, just go with it.

4·9 months agoNo, the curriculum should be decided by a panel of experts in their respective fields, and politicians should be absolutely barred from participating in the process at all. They don’t get to manipulate the minds of our youngest generations for their own nefarious objectives.
If California can start altering the Federally mandated curriculum because THEY decided it needed it, then so can some shithole state like Alabama or Mississippi. And besides, who are THEY that are making these educational decisions? I will put my confidence in a well chosen panel of scholarly academic experts before I’ll let 6th grade educated school board member Bubba Redneck decide what my kids need to learn.
No, states will not be allowed to create their own agendas. They will teach the horrors of slavery, the Native American genocide, the Holocaust, Critical Thinking Skills, the dangers of Political Extremism, how to defend Democracy against domestic terrorists, the crimes of the Trump Administrations, etc , and anyone who doesn’t like it, can simply fuck right off. Nobody is asking for their bigoted, ignorant input on what future American citizens need to learn.

861·9 months agoMy son worked with a young guy whose parents were legal immigrants, and they LOVE Trump unconditionally.
During his first term, when he sent out Covid checks, he insisted the checks have his signature on them. My son’s friend’s parents literally thought that Trump sent them that money out of his own bank account. They were so grateful that he was sacrificing his own fortune to save America. I would have thought that was ridiculous, but Trump knew that many people would respond that way to his signature on that check. Mine was direct deposited so I never fell for it (yeah, that’s why).
So now that his approvals are plunging by the week, he is is desperate to bribe people into loving him again. I’ll gladly take his money, laugh in his face, and continue to despise him as much as ever.

27·9 months ago2+2=4 in every state in the country. AEIOU and sometimes Y are the vowels in every state in this country. We don’t need 50 states providing 50 different interpretations of basic educational facts.
The educational curriculum in this country should be organized and managed by the Federal government, and the states’ only job should be to implement it. All Americans should receive the same basic comprehensive education, and states shouldn’t be able to customize it to their “values.” Nobody is interested in Alabama’s unique take on American History.

21·9 months agoToo complicated. The truth is that they are just really dumb, ignorant, animals who are strongly tapped into their feral feelings. That makes them easy to manipulate by smarter, evil people.
It’s as simple as that. Evil people want what they want, and the convince stupid people to do it by tapping into their hate. Right now, Jews are a convenient target because of the current Gaza situation, but if the problem were in the Middle East, or Africa, or Central America, or anywhere else, THEY would be the target.
There isn’t long term historical considerations in their actions, just immediate political expediency. Jews are hot right now, so it’s Jews. But things are heating up in South America, so it might be Venezuelans next month, and Iranians the month after that. They’ve had their turn in the Bigotry Barrel a couple of times already.
Bottom line: Best MAGA practice is to hate everybody.

3·10 months agoHah, gotcha! It was the Cleveland Browns. I don’t even care about sports any more but I still hate the Ravens and Bill Bellichek, who turned out to be even more of a massive dickhead than we always thought.
Yeah, a big part of why I was able to stay away was because of the whole commercial circus around pro sports. Now they have to have big parties for the drafts, etc. It’s gross.
And frankly, the REAL reason sports is so big these days is because of gambling. The wealthy want to get your money any way they can, so now they have us betting on the Circuses part of the Bread & Circuses.
They market strongest to young men, hoping to turn them into gambling addicts when they are young, so they can waste their lives throwing away any disposable income they encounter.
They’re also working on figuring out a way to get us to pay some exorbitant price for the Bread part.
Rich motherfuckers ruin everything.
The Conservative Propaganda Machine is a real thing, conceived and constructed by Dick Cheney and Roger Ailes following the Watergate scandal, which they blamed on the “liberal” media for reporting their CRIMES. It has evolved over the years, and become an astonishingly effective tool.
While they were doing that, the Dems were doing absolutely nothing to counter or match it, and here we are.

5·10 months agoYou’re right, it wasn’t a Midterm. I lost my head for a moment because this off year election almost had the feeling and energy of a Midterm, and also the exultant feeling you get after a big Midterm win.
The real Midterms next year are going to be much different than usual. The stakes haven’t been this high since before the Civil War, and the campaign is actually going to be scary, and very likely violent.
And that’s if he allows elections. If he doesn’t, there will DEFINITELY be violence.
