I know, it’s the part where you put an equivalence between the Zionist occupiers and the resistance to that illegal occupation. Regardless of the ideology of the occupied people, they have a right to armed resistance enshrined in international law. The occupier has zero rights in this context, just the responsibility to end the occupation and until then, provide for the needs of the occupied, which Israel has utterly disregarded on both accounts. So saying “both are as bad” in this context makes you a clear supporter of the Zionist atrocities, the resistance is exercising it’s human right to armed resistance to occupation. You know, like when jewish Partizans killed during WWII. Calling that equally as bad as the Nazis would in effect make you a Nazi supporter.

1·2 years agoOk, thanks for clarifying. So neck beards basically? That’s a different type of “beard” altogether, they’ve always been more reactionary than anything else:-) feel better about my beard now, got a little worried for real.

21·2 years agoWait, beards are right wing now? WTF? I thought beards were the sign of soy hipster feminist men, what happened? I was much more comfortable being labeled a bearded soy hipster than I am with a right wing loon label. Being of middle eastern origin, the hipster label is the only ‘acceptable’ way for me to keep the beard. The distance from a label of conservative right winger to being deemed an islamist terrorist is not very far. Fuck.

He’s just thankful that Jeffrey was the man who introduced his brother Kimbal and his girlfriend. So Elon’s sister in law is from the old Epstein stable. Keep it in the family.

31·2 years agoFunny how .world mods enforced ‘no calling for killing of innocent people’ when everyone was cheering on CEOs getting dropped. But when ‘edgy’ pieces of shit like this ghoul say “innocent lives? Whatever, the benefits outweigh the costs regardless”, it just stands. I guess the explanation that the servers are in Holland where it’s illegal to say innocent people should be killed, just means illegal when innocent=CEO.

3·2 years agoSpain didn’t exactly just become a democracy after Franco’s death in '75, things were very iffy well into the eighties, or at least until they joined NATO in '82. The military even attempted a coup in '81.

1·2 years agoHighly recommend watching the documentary “Benda Bilili!” about a group of street musicians in Kinshasa, DRC. They’re mostly paralyzed due to childhood polio, but it’s a very uplifting doc. They even sang a lovely song on their debut album about it called Polio.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump warns voters that his second term would get ‘nasty’ at times | According to Donald Trump and his allies, his second term would be "nasty," "bloody," and filled with "hardships" for many
22·2 years agoI think you misunderstand the method of imposing the hardship. The police will be better paid and there to impose the planned hardship on the ordinary people, including many of the people who always vote for him.
It’s honestly rather strange and depressing watching the US from the outside. I have rarely seen the most downtrodden segment of the population being so gung ho about the worst parts of the system that’s been oppressing them their whole lives. It’s amazing to me to see so many super patriotic black people for example. How? For what? Why would you blindly defend the same structures that’ve been oppressing you for centuries? It’d be less depressing and more funny if it wasn’t for the massive destructive power these people get access to when they win, power that they subsequently unleash on the rest of the world.
That’s a problem for the Israeli state to solve, not me. There have been many ways in my view, but that’s not relevant to the question of commiting genocide. I don’t need to be an expert in order to categorically oppose genocide. There’s not a thing you can say that the Palestinians have done, real or imaginary, which would make a genocide defendable to a human being in touch with their humanity.
There’s no reason at all to discuss anything other than stopping the genocide in the current context. You don’t discuss possible long term solutions while a genocide is ongoing. After Israel stops commiting genocide, there’ll perhaps be room to discuss what to do going forward, but while it’s ongoing, there’s only one thing worth discussing: How to stop Israel commiting genocide.
If a people are being genocided and you still have difficulties seeing the black and white clearly, that’s on you. It couldn’t be more black or white than this, the side doing the genocide is always black until it stops doing the genocide. I’m a simple man, doing genocide=black in any context, always.

Kinda like what they did to Sadat in 1981.
