The Democrats are asking for the following:

• Extension & expansion of health-care subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This was set to expire at the end of 2025, and would drive up insurance costs for millions of low-income and middle class families if not subsidized.
• Reversal or protection against Republican-led cuts in Medicaid / other health programs. The BBB removed a lot of people from Medicade coverage, they want to prevent it from getting worse and guarantee protection for US citizens.
• A meaningful say in any continuing resolution (CR) or stop-gap that reopens the government.

Essentially, Republicans are trying to ram through legislation that fuck over a lot of people. Democrats are trying to prevent a lot of people from being fucked over, and have essentially told Republicans that you need to work with us on these things…like, you know, a functional government is supposed to do.

Not sure if you’re just blatantly ignorant of what’s actually happening or if this is just an attempt to smear Democrats, but it’d be nice if a Republican could take the extra 5 minutes to actually read about what’s going on. I’ll do it for you (you’re welcome).

Sen. Hawley introduced the “Keep SNAP Funded Act of 2025” on Oct. 21st. It’s currently with the Senate Appropriations Committee, as of that time. It’s not likely to go anywhere though as REPUBLICAN LEADERS, are not prioritizing it. From a Politico article, there were several quotes from Republicans stating that they don’t want a stopgap, that it doesn’t actually fix the problem.

My concern is that neither side has released a list because its going to be insanely ugly. Like the most powerful people in the US…and the fallout is going to be anarchy.

I have to believe that Biden’s team looked at what the fallout would look like, and their reaction was “Oh…my…god. What they did was fuckjng horrific, but the country will literally implode if we release this.”

We unfortunately live in a two-party system. If these alienated voters are being forced to choose between the transphobe, or someone who wants to systematically eradicate trans people, I hope those alienated voters wisen the fuck up real quick.

At that point, their noble protest vote (or abstinence from voting) does nothing but make the world a worse place. Learn to fight for progress, instead of kneecapping everyone else from being able to do so because your candidate doesn’t toe the line with literally every single one of your values.

It’s “employee owned” but still has a CCP Party Committee that makes decisions. Chinese companies have historically created backdoors in both software and hardware, and have no issues with stealing proprietary data, code, or designs.

I would 100% would have liked someone like Bernie taking office, but when I’m presented with ‘kick in the nuts’ vs being castrated as my only options, I’ll take the ‘kick in the nuts’ everytime.

In an ideal world, I would pick a progressive 10/10 times.

However we don’t live in an ideal world. If your options are warm, stale beer or a steaming cup of shit, I’m going to pick the better option, every time. I mean, according to the history of how conservative news has worked, you constantly need an ‘enemy’ to be afraid. It’s the reason we’re attacking their rights, not yours, it’s the reason that we’re enacting laws to target this specific ethnicityn not yours, etc.

Modern conservativism only works if your supporters are fearful of the ‘other’. It used to be “orientals” and the Red Scare back in the mid-1900’s. Then the blacks, the ‘marihuana’, and communism in the 60’s and 70’s. In the 80’s, it was the welfare queens, the moral panic, and AIDS. In the 90’s, it was child predators, gays, and the start of many identity politics. Then it was Middle Easterners and Islam in the 2000’s. Now it’s the Great White Replacement and the immigrant populations. See? The pattern is that you always have to have some target for fear. They don’t stick around long before people realize that what they were fearful of isn’t as bad as people said they were or that it was never a risk on the first place. It’s all just a massive distraction to keep people from targeting the real problem. The ruling class, and they’re ability to manipulate our laws, elections, and lives all for their benefit.

Major news outlets will not cover the protests. They will happily film the parade though. They will put forth an air of cautious optimism to endear dear leader to their outlet. The only way this gets any MAJOR public attention is if people stop the parade. It will be stopped, there will be a LOT of police action, which will prompt riots, which will prompt more attention. Trump may use it to enact martial law, but he’ll do so at his own detriment. It will not look well at all, but the cancellation of his parade, plus the chaos that will be martial law will only spark more civil discourse throughout the nation.
