Much like capitalism, competition is important between systems of government until we get it right. Capitalism obviously isn’t the right system, but China abuses the shit out of ethnic minorities as well (Uyghurs in the news most recently).

Yeah, we’ve given ourselves a pass on a lot of things, but Old Testament God is going to be pissed off when he comes back to find us eating shellfish and wearing linens with wool.

Seems that way through enough experience and empirical evidence. I just wonder what could have happened if we enforced anti-trust law earlier on… they were meant to help prevent monopolistic companies from taking over everything. Maybe it was a lost hope, but I would’ve liked to see the system functioning as intended for once.

I agree that we’re fucked up beyond belief in the States. If the matter is forfeiting our wealth for free, yeah, it’s going to give up our economic security… but it’s not going to make us better off. There’s something wrong with every current government, right? But we have to agree that some are better than others.
