The color is because old monochrome monitors used to be green and black.

It’s Oregon trail but that’s the screen you see when you die. Ie it normally says something like you drowned while crossing the river or you died of dysentery.

It varied depending on the computer running it.

Its a bit brighter and more saturated than the cheap monochrome screens of the era.
