It’s been clear for some time that Trump must be very easy to manipulate if you know how to approach him. But most people end up debasing and humiliating themselves to win Trump over.

The way Mamdani won over Trump, who previously hated him and saw him as a massive threat, while keeping his dignity and even getting permission to call Trump a fascist, you can’t deny that’s spectacular. Even if you know it should be theoretically possible, it’s amazing to see someone actually do it. Especially someone as leftwing as Mamdani.

But that means he knows how to package his message, how to appeal to people and how to win them over. It would be amazing if Mamdani could also win over the many working class Trump voters in the US.

He might, but in the mean time all the frothing hate towards Mamdani has been silenced, for however long that lasts.

The fact that Mamdani knows how to talk to Trump is a sign of his intelligence and his way with words. We’ve also seen some foreign leaders who know exactly how to talk to Trump to get what they want.

They want to recruit different people. Less women, people of color and LGBT, more racists. This fits perfectly in that policy.

Michelle Obama is not the woman I’m looking at to run. In fact, having launching the political careers if spouses and other family members on the political success of a family member is a terrible idea. This is the main reason why I thought having Hillary Clinton run for president was a bad idea, and I opposed Jeb Bush for the same reason (though I’d vastly preferred either over Trump).

Though I’m aware political dynasties in the US have a history going back all the way to the Adamses.

A progressive revolution by force isn’t going to work if you don’t have a progressive majority. If you’re waging a civil war, it’s a toss up who will win. But if you do have a majority, you can also just vote more progressives into power.

Either way, you’re going to have to convince a lot of people to join your side. That’s the first step: awareness, protests. And the recent election victories show that it’s working. Keep building this so you win all the seats in the midterms.

These sort if miracles are slowly becoming more common. If this goes on, they’ll be commonplace.

But you do need to have the candidates. Get the right, and when campaign time comes, remind the voters who voted away their health care.

The US really needs to tackle political corruption some day. And these people need to be investigated too.

Vote for a progressive who attacks this kind of betrayal. They exist, and they need to take over the Democratic Party.

Let this betrayal fuel that final push.

That would make no sense. That would make this random lashing out just to hurt people. That’s a MAGA thing.

It is pretty clear that they are aware of how unpopular this decision will be: it’s the exact number of senators needed to pass it, and I believe they’re all people who have announced that they will retire after this term.

Clearly nobody who wants to be re-elected wanted to be part of this. That still leaves the question of why? Even if you accept that you’re out of politics after this, why would you tarnish your name like that? What other benefit do they get out of this? What favors are being pulled behind the scenes here?

“Schumer is a bunch of dog shit smirking in a suit all hunched over like Igor” does not sound like a defense.

Schumer is absolutely a problem to the Democratic party, but he’s not MAGA. I’m fairly confident he’d vote to impeach Trump, unlike the Republicans. So he doesn’t support Trump, and he doesn’t support his fascism (although he does support Netanyahu’s genocide, apparently), but he’s also not doing much to resist it either. He’s very much a status quo conservative. Trump is upsetting that status quo, by making it worse. We also want to upset it, but in the opposite direction.

Schumer finds himself stuck in the middle, trying to balance his allegiance to his corporate masters and Netanyahu with Trump’s fascism and the needs of the American people. It’s an awkward position to be in, but he chose it himself, and I don’t feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for the Democratic Party that’s constantly being held back by him.

They should get their own Mamdani.

It’s not about the act itself, but about what it represents: resistance to the new regime. He needs to be made an example of just for that.

There is no such thing as city/suburban ideology. Sure, cities and rural areas are different, but if Trump screws them both, they’re both capable of voting against him.

Also, if you’re planning such a long con to pretend to be antifascist, surely covering up your Nazi tattoo would be first thing on the list. The fact that he didn’t, despite his history of opposing fascism, tells me that he honestly didn’t know.

We know the SS had a skull symbol, but not everybody would be able to recognize it out of context or pick it out of a line up with other skulls.

Can I just say how insane it is that the primary campaign starts this far in advance? There are countries that run an entire election with all its phases, campaigns and preparations in this time.

I know quite a bit about WW2 history, and even I wouldn’t immediately recognise it as the SS skull. It’s not a Swastika, it’s not the SS symbol, it’s not even an iron cross.

The fact that he didn’t remove it when he prepared to run, but only removed in, and did so immediately, after it was pointed out, shows that he didn’t know. And he immediately distanced himself once he did know. I don’t know what more you can expect.

Ultimately, though, the only thing that matters are his actions. The fact that he stands up to fascists, calls out bigotry and stands up for marginalized groups, tells you much more about him than any tattoo ever will.

Are they in this race? Are they loudly standing up for justice?

Go find that better candidate first before you hand this seat to a Republican.

He doesn’t have a skull on his chest anymore. Get over yourself.
