Funny, Trump has no authority over Biden’s pardons and passed bills. He can say anything, but he lacks legal standing to affect things other than executive orders.

I expect government corruption will continue, but this could have a positive effect in various areas. It’s not like there’s any perfect solution to eliminating corruption. So all you can do is try things that make it better in some ways.

I just read another article saying he caved on this. What is the actual situation?

The hired trolls are only one part of the problem. The other problem – perhaps the bigger problem – is that running scam / spam accounts is a legitimate occupation for people living in near-poverty. They need to put food on the table, and if they can do so by posting MAGA bullshit to get the advertising clicks, of course they’ll keep on doing that.
This is a good example of why everyone should be working to improve the living situations of everyone else in the world, and not just in their own country. It’s not like most people enjoy running scams, but if that pays the bills, fuck it, let the rich Americans sort it out.

Nobody said it would be impartial. It’s not impartial now. Might as well make the propaganda be official, imirite?

I am still confused why the judge didn’t clarify the matter. They said to roll back the situation to before the effort was made, but if we take that literally, then basic math says Comey is safe now, and if he is, then his dismissal was actually with prejudice.

"And because Ms. Halligan had no lawful authority to present the indictment, I will grant Ms. James’s motion and dismiss the indictment without prejudice.
That’s a big issue. It should certainly be with prejudice, especially for Comey, because the statute of limitations has run on his actions. A fake prosecutor can’t reset the clock on the statute, can it? That’s not a reasonable legal position.
… However, later language leaves the statute of limitations question open. “I will invalidate the ultra vires acts performed by Ms. Halligan and dismiss the indictment without prejudice, returning Ms. James to the status she occupied before being indicted.” … If that is taken at face value, then the statute wouldn’t get reset.

Yeah, uh, they quoted two people who aren’t her. How awkward! Doesn’t take much to say “I love my husband. We are good. Fuck off, all.” … Which means they aren’t good, lol.
I think he was aware of the kind of linguistic argument you just made. Your positive view inevitability leads to the negative one. You love your country at the expense of others, right? Otherwise you would have been talking about loving the global community. Well, how do you justify supporting your country but not others? Discrimination. That’s how. So patriotism leads to nationalism. Not for everyone all the time, but still for real numbers of people, 100% guaranteed to occur.

And Trump will immediately lose power a year from now unless he can find a way to change the Constitution to let himself serve a third term, which I don’t think is very likely, and also he’s old so no one really thinks he’s going to live that long.
So I’m interested to see how long these sick bastards drag this process out.

I don’t think we’ll have to wait that long because there are enough people who have copies that will leak them. Or they have already and people are not reporting on it yet.

You think this is “holding back”? We have death camps in Florida. We have people, citizens even, getting deported to countries they aren’t citizens of, or have never lived in. Fuck, my guy, it sure could get worse, but they’re not holding back very much, are they.

No, no, it’s simpler than that. She’s lying about being surprised.

You are making two claims, perhaps indirectly, that I think are simply false. (1) You claim there’s no contribution requirements for national pension. Not true, says the government website. (2) You claim the mom and kid don’t pay taxes in the hypothetical. The national government already has various rules to prevent “income sprinkling” that address this exact issue.
So basically, you’re accusing the Canadian tax agency of failing to do its job without presenting evidence of that.

Of course there were many foolish voters out there but it’s not good enough for a candidate to be not Donald Trump. The reality is that many people will stay home when they see dirty corporate politicians running for office. And you can blame the people all you want, but that doesn’t change reality, and they’ll still stay home.
I think what’s embarrassing is your approach. You saw 2016 and 2024 and you still haven’t learned from either of them. It turns out that people vote or don’t vote for a variety of reasons, and a simplistic approach like yours is a failed approach.

Technically dictionaries tend to include multiple definitions because language reflects usage, so technically they very much are.

I disagree. Look in the dictionary, or a few dictionaries, and you will see that there are multiple definitions, one of which matches common usage.
This happens all the time with language. Sorry, but you gotta keep an eye on how words evolve!

Did he admit it? Did he say that? Cuz your readers will think so, but MAGA won’t.
No. I’m saying reality does not care what he says unless he actually has power over it. And here he doesn’t, so reality will keep on going just as it is.
