Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Blocking releasegroups from Sonarr/Radarr [edit] or rather blocking malware regardless of nameEnglish
4·11 months agoIt’s the indexers. I’ve had many day 1 releases from them that were perfectly fine.
What to use for Calendar and Contacts management?
Yes I know about Radicale, I’m talking desktop UI wise because fuck doing any substantial event organizing on a phone.

I’d like to set up a virtual DosBox, accessable by a browser, for my 1000s of dos games.
Maybe something with the new Webtop images from LinuxServerIO? The new Desktop streaming protocol they have is seriously speedy, you can totally game on it!

5·1 year agoAI is the perfect scapegoat. Just claim it’s a deepfake and when experts come out saying it doesn’t have the hallmark artifacts of one, cry about muh radical left or something.

Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System@lemmy.ml•Can we discuss TV streaming boxes?English
4·1 year agoMy phone is Xiaomi 😅
They’re pretty nice hardware wise, retaining long gone features like SD Cards and IR Blasters, but the stock software is really eh, now that they’ve started cracking down on bootloaders unlocking I can’t reccomend them anymore.
At least the TV Boxes are basically just stock Android.

Jellyfin: The Free Software Media System@lemmy.ml•Can we discuss TV streaming boxes?English
1·1 year agoI got a Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd Gen.
They advertise 4K, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision HDR10+, something some other but honestly I couldn’t tell you much about any of that. My TV is old as heeeelllll, 1080p is plenty for me.
Where I live it was comparable in price to a Fire Stick, and since I heard Amazon doesn’t let you switch the stock launcher (and broke all previous workarounds) I choose this instead.
It let me install Projectivity Launcher and disable the stock Google TV Launcher with no fuss.Performance is not bad. Don’t expect to be flying in and out of apps at the speed of light but I can jump between home, YouTube, Twitch and Jellyfin without much delay. Things might stutter while they load but nothing too bad.
All in all, pretty competent little box, I’m happy with it.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Your favourite piece of selfhosting - Part 1 - Operating SystemEnglish
3·1 year agoA friend recommended me OpenSuse MicroOS, and it has been a great experience!
It’s a atomic OS designed to be just enough to run containers and it does it perfectly. It updates and reboots itself automatically so I never have to worry about it.
IMO, perfect for a home environment, just wish the documentation was better.
Is this from a Youtube video?

1·1 year agoThanks!

Sidenote: This post prompted me to go try the rewrite, I grabbed a build from the GitHub actions and it’s looking pretty nice!
Seems all the basics are working, we might get a beta release soon!
