“Polls are now illegal.”

“Polls are now illegal.”

Everything was completely Aladeen.
So tunneling it is.

Yep. I don’t know about similar communities on Lemmy because I avoid them like the plague, but I’ve been on reddit long enough to know that r/conservative is famous for preemptively not allowing anyone who doesn’t agree with them and immediately banning anyone if they go against the grain even a little bit, accusing them of being leftist infiltrators.
It’s the only way they can maintain their hateful bubble and their persecution fetish.
It makes for a very predictable pattern whenever something happens that MAGAts would be expected to dislike. They stay silent about it until someone higher up shows them an acceptable response or viewpoint and they all fall in line for fear of being ousted.

The Netherlands elected a far right clown who let the coalition implode because -like a dog chasing a firetruck- he had no idea what to do but he had to come up with an excuse to blame others. Despite that, he’s still wildly popular.
The Netherlands had an anti immigration protest yesterday where shit was set on fire, so yeah. I don’t think it’s very safe.

You literally described my experience of the past decade. I’m an undereducated nitwit who happened to have grown up in one of the old nazi occupied countries and remembers the stories my grandparents used to tell.
I also had an unfortunate amount of exposure to narcissists (yay generational trauma) and the narcissist’s playbook is nearly identical to the fascist’s playbook.
In Trump’s case, they’re one and the same. They’re laughably easy to predict.

I predict he still won’t be doing well, and he’ll be doing it in hell.
Or someone corrected him, so naturally, he doubled down by writing “GULF OF MEXICO” on the map with a sharpie.
Maybe there’s a North Korean general across the street?

You know how in abusive families there is often one outright abusive parent and one codependent parent?
The one who will hug their kids and tell them to keep their heads down and don’t upset mom/dad? The one who acts like they’re just as much a powerless victim of the abuse as the kids they are supposed to protect? The one who never, ever steps in to actually protect their kids or get them away from the abusive parent?
That’s the DNC.
They survive by firmly staying in denial about their own pain, shame and insecurities. And they do that by offloading and projecting those things to the people around them, with zero regard for how that might affect them.
I’m going to reserve my empathy for the people who have to deal with narcissists rather than the narcissists themselves.
